CO₂ Cylinder Compatibility

Hathasoda machines do not come with a CO₂ cylinder, and we do not sell cylinders. You supply your own. This page tells you exactly what fits, so you do not buy the wrong one.

What fits

Every Hathasoda sparkling water maker takes a standard 60 L screw-in CO₂ cylinder with a Thread 21-4 connection. This is the common screw-in fitting used by the exchangeable cylinders sold across the United States.

What does not fit

Quick-connect and snap-in cylinders do not fit. These are the push-and-click cylinders you seat with a lever or a twist of the housing rather than by screwing the cylinder in. They use a completely different connection and cannot be adapted to a screw-in machine.

Large industrial CO₂ tanks use their own tank-valve fittings and are not a drop-in substitute either. See the note on external cylinders below.

How to check the cylinder you already own

1. Look at the neck of the cylinder. If it has a visible external screw thread, it is a screw-in type.
2. Look for a marking stamped or printed near the valve. A Thread 21-4 cylinder is the one you want.
3. If the cylinder seats with a lever, a click or a quarter-turn collar instead of screwing in, it will not fit a Hathasoda machine.

External cylinders on the S1 Pro

The S1 Pro has a rear gas inlet designed to take a larger external cylinder, which means fewer swaps. The parts you need depend on the cylinder you choose, so email us first and we will confirm what your setup requires before you buy anything.

Where to get CO₂

Standard 60 L screw-in cylinders are sold and exchanged through third-party retailers and exchange programmes in the United States. Hathasoda is not affiliated with any of them, does not sell cylinders and cannot ship them.

One honest caveat

We have not bench-tested every cylinder brand on the market, and manufacturers change their fittings. What we can tell you is the connection our machines use. If your cylinder screws in on a Thread 21-4 fitting it will connect; if you are working with anything unusual, ask us first — that is faster than a return.

Safety

Follow the instructions supplied with your cylinder. Do not modify a cylinder or a machine fitting, do not force a cylinder that does not thread in freely, and store cylinders upright and away from heat.
